Back in the days when the only source of heat was the fireplace, biscuits were baked in a special oven placed near the front of the fire. It was made out of tin and sloped down toward the floor. Biscuits were placed on the shelf and left to bake. Later versions, made for campers and hikers, were collapsible.
This oven is in primitive condition..slightly rusty, a little dented. But still a unique piece. It would look great in a country kitchen or log cabin. Definitely a conversation piece. And with a little practice you can bake your own biscuits in it.
Cone shaped, it measures 24" tall, 16' deep and has a 21" diameter. It sits in legs. The shelf shows that it has baked many a biscuit. There is a handle on the top to move it either closer or away from the fire.
