Back in the days when the only source of heat was the fireplace, biscuits were baked in a special oven placed near the front of the fire.  It was made out of tin and sloped down toward the floor.  Biscuits were placed on the shelf and left to bake.  Later versions, made for campers and hikers, were collapsible. Here is a large wooden spool that has been made into a lamp.  The spool measures 11 1/2" tall and 5" across.  The height of the entire lamp is 16 1/4".  It does work but no shade.  In very good condition.  Would look great in a log cabin or a sewing room. ....]]>
